Ask Dr. Feldman: Why is it so important to have straight teeth?

Some people wonder why Dr. Feldman and our team at Feldman Orthodontics work so hard to give our patients straight teeth. Of course it’s nice to have a smile full of evenly aligned teeth, but did you know that straightening your teeth can keep them (and you) healthier? Straight teeth lead to better oral hygiene, increasing your chances of keeping your own natural teeth for a lifetime.

Straight teeth are less prone to decay, because they collect less plaque—the sticky colorless substance that forms on our teeth and leads to tooth decay; and they are easier to keep clean!

If you’re wondering whether your teeth might cause problems because they are out of alignment, give us a call to set up a consultation. Dr. Feldman can help you decide whether or not you will benefit from orthodontic treatment at Feldman Orthodontics.

Enjoy the rest of your week!

Meet Our Orthodontist

I grew up in the suburbs of Chicago and then moved off to college at the University of Michigan - Go Blue! After college I attended dental school at the University of Pennsylvania. I received my D.M.D (Dental degree) and Masters of Education during my 4 years in Philadelphia. I decided to further my dental education by pursuing a graduate degree in Orthodontics immediately after finishing dental school. I attended the University of Detroit Mercy Graduate Orthodontics program.

Following my residency I moved to Arizona with my wife who is a Cosmetic Dentist in Scottsdale. We have two sons and a Standard Poodle named Marley who all love to come visit the office. In our spare time the four of us love to be outdoors. We enjoy hiking, biking, sailing, water skiing and driving around the beautiful Southwest. My wife has run 2 marathons and I have completed the 109 mile Tour de Tucson twice. We are always looking forward to new and exciting healthy outdoor adventures!

Professionally, I am a member of the American Board of Orthodontists, the American Association of Orthodontists, the American Dental Association, and the Alpha Omega Dental Fraternity. I am also on Staff at St. Joseph's Hospital in Phoenix where I provide orthodontic treatment for patients with Cleft Lip and Palate and other Craniofacial Anomalies.
